Overview
Grove & Grain draws inspiration from the timeless character of Arcadia, where mature citrus groves, established homes, and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship create a sense of place unlike anywhere else in Arizona. Designed as the heart of the home, this kitchen celebrates natural materials, thoughtful detailing, and the art of gathering.
Rich wood cabinetry establishes warmth and authenticity, while layers of natural stone, handcrafted brick, architectural glass, and warm brass accents bring depth and texture throughout the space. Furniture-inspired millwork, glass display cabinetry, and custom storage solutions create an environment that feels collected over time rather than newly constructed. At the center of the room, a generously scaled island serves as both a functional workspace and a natural gathering place for family and guests.
The material palette was intentionally selected to age beautifully, allowing each element to develop character and patina over time. Sunlight moves through the space, highlighting the grain of the wood, the texture of the brick, and the subtle reflections of brass and glass. Adjacent entertaining and dining areas flow seamlessly from the kitchen, reinforcing the home's focus on hospitality, connection, and everyday living.
The design's thoughtful integration of materials, craftsmanship, and functionality earned national recognition, receiving the prestigious Condé Nast & SKS Technicurean Kitchen Design Award and later being featured by Architectural Digest in 2022.
